As the logistics and complexity of hosting the annual CSHEMA conference increases, so does the time and effort at coordination. This year, Stanford University EH&S, your conference host, has contracted with the Conferences and Events (C&E) Office of the University of Utah. These are the same folks who so ably worked with Marty Shaub and her committee to host the very successful event at the University of Utah in 1997.

C&E will be coordinating most of the logistics and all of the registrations for the CSHEMA2000 Conference and the Professional Development Seminars. At this point, we plan to mail out the pre-conference and registration information by March 1. Online registration for the conference and PDSs will be available after March 1.

On-Campus Housing

Reservations for on-campus housing at the French House (Oui!) are now being taken. C&E will coordinate with you directly for the very limited on-campus housing available. You need to contact Linda Williams directly via e-mail at lwilliams@admin.dce.utah.edu with your request.

CONFERENCE HOTELS
Although we are about six months from the conference, initial indications are that the conference will have higher-than-normal attendance this year. Therefore, I encourage each of you to review the information on conference housing and reserve your housing as soon as possible. We have a commitment for 150 units of housing at the Sheraton Hotel, the conference center, and up to 30 units at the Stanford Terrace Inn. Reservation Forms are available for downloading from the CSHEMA2000 web site and faxing to the respective hotel - please use these form to make any hotel reservation. All housing arrangements are the responsibility of the participant and contact should be made directly with the hotel.

ON-CAMPUS HOUSING
On-campus housing is available at the French House on campus. This house has 22 rooms available, some single, some double or triple occupancy. Arrangements for on-campus housing must be made through the conference management services. See the contact information relative to the limited on-campus housing option on the web site.

OTHER LOCAL HOUSING INFORMATION
There are many hotels and motels in the nearby areas, available by link under our Hotel Accommodation section on the web site. This link provides some of the amenities offered by each establishment as well as its distance from Stanford's Main Quad. Please feel free to contact these motels directly for information and rates.
